Who and What are we?

We are ROCKY POINT RETREAT, a Senior(over 50 years) RV Retreat located in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas. Although we are aimed at Rv’ers, ROCKY POINT RETREAT is not limited to Rv’ers. We are not an “in and out” RV Park. We are semi-secluded, being off the highway in a rural, scenic setting. Having long term residents, one has the same neighbors over a long period. Having permanent residents and on-site management gives us a sort of built in security system-everyone knows if a strange vehicle, or person, is in the Retreat.

Our location gives us a quiet atmosphere, BUT we are far from isolated. Medina is a small town just 3 ½ miles away. Although small, it has several restaurants, a library, post office, hardware store, a convenience store, and a FAMILY DOLLAR. Our location is only 20 miles from Kerrville, Texas, which has excellent medical facilities, dining, shopping, grocery stores, drug stores, churches, and more. We are 16 ½ miles from Historic BANDERA, TEXAS, “Cowboy Capitol of the World”. Bandera seems to always have something happening, from Cowboy Mardi Gras in February to Bandera Honors Veterans in November, gun fights, Riverfest, and the list goes on. It has most everything one needs, groceries, drug stores, clothing, churches, hardware, auto repair and parts, and more fun than you “can shake a stick at”. For those needing a “big city fix”, we are only 60 miles +/- from downtown San Antonio, Texas, the 7th largest city in the U.S. It has everything one could want, and then some, including San Antonio International Airport, The Riverwalk, Zoo, The Alamo, shopping centers galore, dining comparable to anywhere, and so much more.

Our sites are leased on a long term basis, from 4 months(Try Us-You’ll Like Us) to 5 years(renewable). The sites are spacious, most being approximately 50′ x 100′, with some larger and some a bit smaller, but all have “elbow room”. 100 amp electric service, water, and sewer are on the lots. Some lots have storage sheds in place. With approval of management, residents may construct decks/covered porches, fences(limited) for pets, carports or RV ports, and some minor landscaping. Some residents have leased more than one lot. If a resident owns the structures on the lots, they are responsible for taxes. Residents provide their own electricity and propane gas, with water and sewer provided by the Retreat. Cable TV is not available at this time. Some “over the air” stations are available but, the reception is spotty. Most residents have satellite dishes. Internet access is through the phone company, by satellite, or air/WiFi card— AND NOW, FIBER OPTICS IS AVAILABLE.   Common areas- pool, exercise room, clubhouse, hiking trails- are maintained by ROCKY POINT RETREAT staff, with residents being responsible for their individual lot(s).
